I’m going to be straight with you. I’m happily married and the H and I have a half dozen kids. That said, I write for two reasons.
Number one, I get to finish it. Dishes are never finished. Laundry is never finished. Writing … well, it’s hard to stop editing sometimes, but eventually I get to call it finished.
Reason number two is that, although I LOVE my life, the worlds I create when I write offer an escape. I get to choose when and where. I can control the weather. I get to pick who lives and who dies (insert evil cackle here). And, frankly, my characters – unlike my kids – actually listen to me … um, sort of.
In a world that exists in beautiful, utter chaos 90% of the time, it’s nice to have your own little place of respite. Fiction is mine.

As far as bugs or anything goes – hubby doesn’t like them either but he gets the look from me that says “I don’t care. You the man here. It’s your job!” There was a snake in my garden on day and he had to sharpen the shovel when he got home. He couldn’t stitch the snake back together. Need I say more? lol
LMAO! That is HILARIOUS! Before my kids were old enough to do it, I used to shake and cry when I had to kill a snake. Now they do it with such zeal I wonder about their mental states sometimes. Talk about murderous glee, and I just want to throw up, LOL.
