Nick and Rhys are headed for a showdown, but he’s got a stop to make first: the cemetery He wants to visit the grave of the man who took a bullet in the same bust that ended Rhys’s career. From Rhys’s point-of-view, with the first line of speech belonging to Nick:
“It was my bullet, Rhys, and I need to let this go.”
With that, she agreed. But the timing?
He reached to take her hand. “I need to find peace with at least one person I’ve shot,” he said with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “Make room for the guilt I won’t feel when I kill that bastard [spoiler].”
The bastard in question is the man hunting Rhys.

I love the dialogue in this snippet. Great job, Sarah.
Thanks, Jess!
It seems like he’s armoring up for the final show-down. Nice six!
That he is! Thanks, Sarah!
Here it comes, the O.K. corral in modern dress. Super six again, Sarah.
LOL. Thanks, Charmaine!
At least he’s trying to explain his actions to her, well written six.
Thanks, Gemma!
Very emotional, in many ways. Well done!

Love his dialogue and the interaction between this pair.
Thanks, Taryn!
Can feel his anguish here as he struggles to do what he needs to do…
Glad to know it! Thanks, Angela!
He has a point. But at the same time, so does she. I wonder if the bad guy is going to be at or follow them to the cemetary. That would be an interesting setting for a showdown. Great six!
It certainly would! They’re going to find something interesting there, but it won’t be flesh and blood. :c)
I really like these two together. Definately want to go back and read thier story from the beginning.
Yay! So happy to see this. And the ebook will be available soon for just 99 cents, so YAY some more! LOL.
WooHoo!

Great insight into his struggle, Sarah!
Thank you, Kate!
I agree with Rhys that his timing sucks–how accurate for a man
His dialogue is very heartfelt. Great 6.
LOL. Thanks, Clare!
99 cents? I’ll have to keep an eye out for this.
Yes’m! And it’s about 32k words, so not too shabby. Thank you – I’m extremely flattered by your interest!
What a great hero he is turning out to be, does the job despite the emotional cost. Great Six
I think he’s had the deepest emotional struggle of any hero I’ve written. Sometimes I kind of wanted to slap him, but I’d probably want to slap him anyway if he shrugged off what he did to her, LOL. Thank you!
I like his admission. Good six, Sarah.
Thank you, Siobhan!
His simple words express an amazing complexity of storyline and emotion! Well done.
Thanks so much, Jessica!
Fantastic dialog. You really know how he’s feeling. Great six!
Thanks, Karen!
I love the look into Nick’s thought process and state of mind. There’s nothing like a tortured, complex hero.
I agree! Thanks so much, Carrie-Anne!
A brave man who knows what he has to do. You’ve captured his feelings brilliantly in this six.
Thank you, Frank!
Great six and great dialogue in this six
